Our first stop was Stuttgart. We got a little worried about the whole adventure when it began with a couple of train problems. Our first train connection didn't happen because of construction on the tracks, so we shoved our way into a bus with everyone else who wanted to get to the next station. Then, after lugging our luggage up and down hordes of steps, we found out that our train "ist ausgefallen." That means it no longer exists. SO, we grabbed coffee and waited for a couple hours to catch the next one. After that, however, all was smooth sailing.
Stuttgart was so much prettier than we thought it would be and it was 75 sunny degrees!

After a full day in the city, we lost our hostel. We ended up walking all the way up this huge hill only to find that we had walked up the wrong hill. Then we had to walk all the way down and go find and walk up the right hall. It was okay though-- we considered it conditioning for the rest of the trip.
